Front-load a direct answer under each heading
Your sections open with long paragraphs that bury the answer. AI assistants extract; they don’t summarize your whole page. A section that states its answer in the first sentence or two - before context, caveats, and story - is liftable. A section that makes the reader (or model) work for it gets skipped.
What does “front-loaded” mean exactly?
Answer first, elaboration second. The paragraph directly under each heading should resolve the heading in under ~70 words - a direct claim, a number, a yes/no with the key condition. Everything else (background, exceptions, examples) comes in the paragraphs after. Journalists call it the inverted pyramid; it predates AI and works for humans too.
Before and after?
Before: “There are many factors that influence the cost of a bathroom remodel, and every project is unique. Factors include the size of the space, the fixtures selected, local labor rates…”
After: “A typical bathroom remodel costs $8,000–$25,000, with most mid-range projects landing near $15,000. The spread comes down to three factors: size, fixture quality, and local labor rates - here’s how each moves the number.”
The second version answers immediately, cites specifics, then promises depth. That’s the paragraph an assistant quotes.
How do you retrofit existing pages?
Section by section: read each heading, write the one-or-two-sentence answer it deserves, and paste that answer as the section’s new opening paragraph. Keep the original copy below it as elaboration. You’re not deleting content - you’re promoting the conclusion.
