How does ChatGPT find websites?
ChatGPT reads the web through OpenAI's crawlers. One builds the search index, one fetches pages live while someone is chatting, and one collects training data. Each can be blocked on its own, and most sites that are invisible to ChatGPT are blocking one of them without knowing it, usually through a copied robots.txt or a firewall default. Is robots.txt blocking ChatGPT?
Open yoursite.com/robots.txt and look for a Disallow line under GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot or ChatGPT-User, or a blanket Disallow under User-agent: *. Any of those keeps ChatGPT out. The scan reads your rules and tells you which line to change. How to allow GPTBot.
Is your firewall turning ChatGPT away?

How do I check if ChatGPT can see my website?

Which OpenAI crawlers do I need to allow?
OpenAI runs three. OAI-SearchBot builds the index ChatGPT search draws on, ChatGPT-User fetches a page live when someone asks ChatGPT about it, and GPTBot collects training data. Block OAI-SearchBot and you cannot appear in ChatGPT search results. The scanner tests GPTBot directly; if your robots.txt names the other two, make sure they are allowed as well.
Why is my website not showing up in ChatGPT?
