Who runs AIOScan?
AIOScan is built and run by Abdul Jaafar, a Toronto-based marketer who also runs Mason, a search and AI visibility agency. That relationship is disclosed on the agency page rather than hidden: the free scanner is the honest diagnostic, and the agency is one option for people who want the fixes done for them. Every article on this site carries his byline.
There is no anonymous “team of experts,” because inventing one would be exactly the kind of fake signal this site exists to call out.
Is the AIO Score a real methodology or a made-up number?
It is real, and the proof is that you can re-derive it. The methodology page lists all 21 checks and their exact point weights, and it is generated from the same source file the scanner runs, so the documentation cannot drift from the code. Each weight links to the published research that justifies it, including Ahrefs’ 1.4 million prompt study and Surfer’s citation analysis.
Most tools in this category publish a score and no method. We consider an unverifiable score worthless, which is why check number one of our credibility is that you never have to trust one.
Does AIOScan pass its own test?
Yes, aioscan.com scores 100 of 100 on its own scanner, and you can run that scan yourself right now: paste aioscan.com into the scanner. We publish this fact with the obvious caveat attached: we built the site to pass the test we publish, so our own score proves consistency, not superiority.
The stronger evidence is that we ran the same scanner against the web’s top 1,500 domains and published every aggregate, including results for our own industry, with the sample list committed to a public repository.
What does AIOScan do with your data?
Almost nothing, which is the point. Scans require no signup and no email, so there is no lead-capture database with your address in it. The scanner fetches your public pages the way any crawler would, scores them, and gives you the report. The privacy policy covers the details.
If a tool asks for your email before showing results, you are the product; we chose the other model, and the paid products we build later will be paid honestly rather than funded by gated reports.
Where does AIOScan get things wrong?
Three honest limits. The scanner reads one page at a time, so it is not a full-site crawl. It measures whether AI systems can read and cite you, not what they currently say about your brand, which needs a monitoring tool.
And a small number of checks depend on how your server responds at scan time, so a temporary outage can score worse than your normal state; rescanning fixes that.
